Lime Jello Salad

1 large box lime jello
1 cup boiling water
1 8oz pkg cream cheese
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 16oz can crushed pineapple, drained
1 cup lemon-lime soda
1 8oz tub cool whip

Dissolve jello in water. In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese until fluffy. Stir into jello and beat until smooth. Stir in vanilla, pineapple, and soda. chill mixture for about 1 hour or until it mounds slightly when dropped from a spoon. Fold in cool whip. Pour into a 9x13 dish. Refrigerate 3-4 hours or until firm. Cut into squares.
